I think it was pretty damn good. Def gonna buy for the multiplayer if anything, although the single-player looks promising. Graphics are definately up to scratch as well :)

Actually that's made me think. Will that health system work well in multiplayer?

I had that thought to about the health in multiplayer, and I can't see it working good. I mean, you could just keep ducking for 5 seconds no matter where you were shot and you'd be good to go for another fight.

I think they will keep with how the original health system worked.

Can't wait for the release. Anybody know about what multiplayer maps they have got and what size?

I found it to be pretty bug ridden - I hope they fix it in time for general release on the 25th.

The issues are related to graphics, textures and shadows. ATI cards have big problems and the texture quality drops when you increase the res, it seems.

i havent noticed any graphical bugs, probably distracted by the gameplay bugs :p
im hoping they just rushed to release it after DoD:S was released and the final will be much better
half the time the damn squad wont follow me, then i get to the next scripted bit and it dumps me to menu with an error about them not following...

Ran fine for me, didnt see any bugs (and believe me, i`d notice) ran nice and smooth on my desktop, and i shoved it onto my laptop aswell and maxxed the graphics, Powerful little cards them x700,s!! The lappy ran it just as good as the pc, and i even took some comparison shots :)

(tho it did send the Gfx fan on my laptop bizerk, could hear it over the gunfire!)

    EDIT: heres the shots

Spot the difference, and tell me which is the 6800, and which is the x700, i cant see much of a difference.

The widescreen aspect gave it away huh? Thought it might, ohwell..

The only real difference i can see is that big mark on the wall behind the wheel on the jeep is much darker on the Nvidia card

if you look at where it says call of duty 2 pre release demo in the right top corner, look at the roof of the building below. on the X700 its all blocky, on the 6800 its smoother.

The difference is blatant. The lighting and shadowing is waaaaay different. Although it actually looks pretty crap in both shots tbh.

Overall though the game looks stunning - character details and so forth are really well done.

I`ll agree, That isnt the best eye candy shot, but trust me, It does look alot better in other areas, i just didnt want to go and post 2 big pictures of one of the more intense fights, i`ll leave you to download the game and discover it yourself.
(Unless anyone else wants more shots??)

WTF? FRAPS wont work with COD2 for some reason, i was taking tons of screenies but it didnt save them? I cant take them the normal way and use prtscn either because when i minimize the game, it crashes??..

(Thats why i only had the 2 comparions because it crashed when i went to save the pic)

IMHO, the texture quality drops when you increase the resolution on an NVIDIA card, in-game Anti-Aliasing doesn't work, you have to enable support for dual video cards every time you start the game up.

With an ATI card, the heat haze disappears, as does the player shadowing. Notice that the shadowing on the X700 picture above is much lighter than the shadowing on NVIDIA's card. This isn't a problem with ATI's hardware, it's a problem with the game - you can turn the shadows and heat haze back on with cvars in the config files, but that's not the point. :)

i was playing the game earlier with medium and high gfx settings, and when i went and hid behind the truck in the same spot, it looked 100 times better than that picture, even though i was on 1024 by 768 and antialiasing was only at 2x on my radeon 9600se with a bit of overclocking. 40fps too.
