well i am obsessed with the game Call of duty. so i decided to mod my case with a cod theme. so far i have decided that i will have a window with a 80mm fan in it over the graphics card and some holes intended to look like bullet holes on the other side. also i am going to take a drive bay cover and put an overhead slide printout of the cod logo and put plexigrass over it and a white LED behind it and buff the crap out of it so it looks good. then i thought of taking the case after painting it and dragging it on my driveway a bit so that theres some scratches in the paint to the metal below. then ill take some copper sulfate and put in the scrapes to make it look war-worn. let this terribly made picture give youthe idea...

Bullet holes, explosion scorch marks, blood, etc. Maybe try to make it look like computers of the 1950s era used for code breaking, communications, fire prediction, etc. You'll want to do some research in that area. Perhaps make it look like the Enigma machine after it's seen a lot of combat (and most likely half-destroyed).

I'd love to see the completed case!!

    What I would do:

-Paint the case camo (a nice, factory fress semi-matt finish)
-Take the case outside, kick it around a little over sand, throw rocks at it (scratches+dents)
-Take some sanding paper and sand all the way to bare metal on the edges
-Make bullet holes with a sharp round metal object

That's all I can come up with now, I do hope you're gonna make a great war battered case :hip:

    Cheers,
    Mike

definitely needs a little cold blue dulled steel, and some olive drab. maybe some ww2 radio looking modding (make a model of one of those radios), definitely needs some bulletholes. i think it would be really cool if you put a cheap airsoft pistol inside... you can get one for like 10 bucks. etch/put sticker on window that says break in case of emergency. make sure its a luger or 1911 or other old pistol. also, get some shell casings and glue a few of them down in the bottom of the case where you can see them in the window. maybe...lodge a few in the case too.

argh. theres no skill involved in dragging your case around a bit outside, i think you will notice that in piloux's mods he never left anything to chance, all the "damage" was done extremely carefuly (for the most part ;) ) and i think as goes with most mods, the more time you spend the better result you will get

I think it would be a cool mo to do. But surely u cna make it look war battered without kicking it round ect. And to the bullet holes, try heating it with a gas torch (hey, that would do for scorch marks) and then punch a hole in it (that would provide the sort of effect a bullet leaves when it his metal).
    Just my 2 cents worth

You could also try and incorporate some cammoflauge webbing, that stuff would look awesome :D

Also consider making it look like a backpack or radio operator box. Both are around the same size as a mid tower...well maybe smaller on the radio, but it's close.

lots of great ideas! i was already going to put some 30 06 casings into the bottom of the case and glue them down. ill also throw some rocks at it and scrape it with some sand. i might also drop it on i corner or 2 to make it look like it fell off a truck or something. morphious ive got a cod site too, and id be more than happy to write you an article for your site when im finished ( check out mine in my sig) i cant wait to get started. i was thinking for some camo to paint the case all grey first and then getting a dark green and putting a light coat of it in a camo stile. sort of a subtile camo effect. hugwi, camo webbing would be great! i just cant really think of somewhere to put it. ill need to think about that one harder. i should be able to start this mod soon, i just need a good window design. im thinking jsut a normal window shape, nothing fancy, but gonig around the little hand spot to pull the case side off. similiar to the pic of pilouxs window up a couple posts.
well, any more ideas are appreciated! thanks! :thumb:

Bleh no 30-06 shells, too tiny. How about something like this (56k warning)? That's a 12,7x109 machine gun round, 9mm Luger round on left for size reference. :D

Try to get your hands on some .50BMG or 12,7x109 inert ammo (real shell and bullet, no primer or powder). Should be pretty cheap.
