And that's it - the part of my soul reserved for gaming has just died.

It's a sign of the times, my friend. The instant gratification generation are the money makers. We're not the target market anymore (Unless you happen to be under 30).

Why are people still buying that recycled garbage? Never mind. We have Elite:Dangerous now, no instagrat reward system, no grind to get to a competitive point... soooo refreshing.

ghosts aside cod has improved over the years even if it's whats been done before. only 3 of the top 10 are new series of games. Which is a shocking statement for the industry really. 2014 was just not a great year for gaming. Elite dangerous needs some content adding to it as after the first 50 or so hours it got pretty boring.

Activision owns 3 of the top 10, EA owns 3 of the top 10 guess both company's share holders are happy.

See if you were over 30 you would own some COD games and they'd be good! COD1 and 2 anyone? The original Modern Warfare? Glory days but sadly no long with us.
(Don't get me started on Medal of Honor) :sigh:

For the same reason they drink Carling and read tabloids...

Playing CS:GO is the reason BF pisses me off. I just can't stop feeling sluggish and slow as ****. Feels like I'm driving a rover on Mars.

COD 2 was amazing. The single player was so long I never completed it. Lot of atmosphere. Loved it.

Stanley, it's worth seeing through to the end, the final battle is 7 shades of brilliant.

It's all to do with hype and Marketing. Why else would someone as terribly annoying as PewdiePie become a millionaire....Because it takes a group of people to say he's awesome and then everyone else wants to feel like they're part of that group.

Same with games. It's hyped up to the nines and everyone who's not old (or wise) enough to realise they don't have to be pretty or popular to be wanted queue up to buy the game to make them part of that group.

Not being negative, just realistic on modern marketing for the current generation.

Not all of them, of course, but people under 25 are terribly easy to manipulate.
