Whoa, I just convinced my mum to cancel this ****** 1MB aol, And get the 10mbps Cable from Telewest! HAZAAAAA!!!!!! Can you say 1.2MB/s?
Unfortunately, the same can't be said of the upload speed... 48KBps down. I'd rather have 6Mb/2Mb than 10Mb/0.4Mb
Agreed. My dad is on AOL in his office, and his internet has been down all week. They are craaap. I especially don't like how you have to use their program to connect.
think NTL said by the end of 2006... but i think it will be sooner... i mean who will stay with ntl when u can get 10mb/s now!
4MB for me at the moment, but 10MB will soon be had! Still great downloading at 500kb/s - torrents ahoy!
NTL is going 10meg on all it's 3meg customers this christmas, then the same for all it's others later on next year. Yep, thats right, everyone will be on 10meg with NTL sooner or later, but what you will pay more for is a higher cap, rather than more speed
For anyone on Pipex solo 1000 (the 1meg connection) go into your control pannel and click change package, there is now an option for Pipex 1000 (not solo) but if you look at the speed its 2meg. Upload is still 256. I did it yesterday and now I have 2meg at no additional cost.
It seems companies are upgrading thier services, i remember when the Telewest BB 1Mb (the one goin 4mb) was only 512kb, then was upgrades to 756kb, then 1Mb I think -Fr4nk
I can say 1.2MB/s but i can also say 2mb/s on my Uni WiFI connection but then only get that on www.mirror.ac.uk and other janet sites, you'll behard done by too find a download that will allow you that much bandwidth but you can download lots at once . morgan.
