Sorry for the lack of updates, it's been a bit manic lol. But today Sophie is coming home!!! She is being discharged as we speak and should be home in an hour or so
That's brilliant news. Getting her home will make life a lot easier in terms of settling into a routine and restoring a bit of normality.
Like he said. Congrats to you all, that it's gone well and you're on your way home. Baby arrived - check Allowed home - check New life as a family - check: the Great Adventure begins! I wish you great strength and happiness. It can be the hardest (but most rewarding) job in the world. Enjoy the time, it passes mighty fast and they grow up and change before your eyes.
Little one still doing great, treatment starts on Monday to begin straightning out her feet Here is a picture of my 2 girls........
Look, Pookie, don't take this the wrong way but I think you should stop posting pictures of your kids on this forum. I mean, look at them. Look at them! They're just way too cute. And cuteness, dear sir, on these here forums will not do. Where will it end? Young, healthy forumites of reproductive age will look at these images of cute wee bairns that you are throwing up here in parental infatuation, and they'll go: "Awww.", and then it starts. They get broody. They want the smell of baby powder, the cuddly hugs of chubby little arms, the pitter-patter of little feet and shrieks of playful laughter in the garden. A desire to generate offspring of their own so they can read bedtime stories to them and bounce them on their knees. And then? No more modding, is what. No time for computers. No money for upgrades. This forum will become a wasteland, or worse, change its colour scheme to pink and become Dads-net. And it will be all your fault. You did this, Pookie. You and those too-darn-cute kids. Your kitty avatar was bad enough, but dammit man, are you trying to break us?!
For some reason it's wrong to get your teenage daughter neutered though. Instead you have to resort to making her boyfriend think you're the reincarnation of Genghis Khan.
This made me think of Phil Jupitus Live at the Apollo which I saw last week... My wife & I were crying with laughter; we have a coming up 15 year old son, and and 11 year old daughter; and this situation is probably heading our way sooner than we'd like
Just a little update, Sophie throughout most of January she has managed to catch every cold out there and catch Bronchiolitis, this is the worst thing she could have caught as she has floppy airways. She spent 2 weeks in intensive care in Cardiff and a week at Bristol and thankfully she is now doing super well. She is living proof that this condition can be not only survivable but you can still thrive! She still is undergoing the Ponseti treatment for her club feet and will soon have "boots and bars" to finalise the straightening process. She will also be getting some hearing aids soon which will be cool Anyway this was taken on mothers day...
Cheers Glen, she has a lot of battles ahead but she is in really good health at the moment. The older she gets the stronger she gets. This picture was taken on the 9th of January in Cardiff, she is in an induced coma and is intubated. She got very close to having a tracheostomy
