You should never get a tattoo based on someone else's recommendation.... Go to google image search, type in some words like "skulls", "gothic" and "death" (may want to apply safe search...), get a few things you like (even just small details), print them off, go see a decent tattoo artist and have a chat.
I would say go see a good local artist, ask them what they can do in that theme to cover it up. they always know best as to what they can actually do and suggest to cover up summit like that as it looks like there will need to be a large block colour area to hide it
Apparently it always scars the bloke I saw was sun bathing and the scars didn't tan so you could see exactly what the tattoos was
Currently its fairly small with not to much ink and light colourings so a removal wouldn't be too bad. Once you have it covered though your not going to be able to remove whatever you cover it up with easily because it'll need large blocks of dark colouring. Think carefully about how you'll feel in 10-20 years time about whatever new tattoo you might conceal it with.
This i know, as i already have a few in mind that i have seen today, however i also like to see if somone else has an idea as then i might not use all of it, but i may like a certain part of it to make it my own going to see my guy on monday with a couple i have in mind, however i cant find a decent sized pic anywere of them I will always feel the same about skulls and death, its what makes me who i am and yes like you say 29 years down the line it may be a problem, i alwayts said i would never get a girls name, however i got my wifes name on my arm - lets hope all is tickety boo anywho the ideas i seen that i like, but sorry for size as cant find em larger
This is not true... it's very dependant on the type/quality of laser and strength used by operator. Many lasers used in tattoo shops give awful results and do scar (I know from experience). This is due to the fact you can import awfully cheap lasers for next to nothing and as a rule people in the tattoo shops jump on it for fast cash and painful results... that I'm sure they turn a blind eye too. If you find a decent laser; work that's already somewhat old, faded or done a long time ago can be removed without scaring but it can take time. Older tattoo inks are far more basic then the modern days and results are much better. If you do choose to look into laser just make sure the place doing it use a 'Lynton' laser. From experience these are amazing. Cost a bomb & anybody purchasing one is given appropriate training on how to safely use it. You are more than likely to find these types of laser in a beauty clinic. A place that also does hair removal and these types things. I've gone from being awfully scared by a cheap tattoo shop offering laser removal to perfect removal at a cosmetic beauty place just down the road. A heads up; it hurts a whole bunch more than the tattoos and can take years for perfect results.
The wife has a tattoo on her back she wanted removed and did look into an ink which dissolves the tattoo.
ah heard about that a lot in the tattoo shop. They tattoo the 'removal solution' into the area... personally sceptical about that myself... Again the tattooist or person doing this has to know what they are doing... In the wrong hands they could easily cause an awful amount of trauma/damage to the skin just by tattooing a large area incorrectly. Espeically when most people offering this type of removal are not tattooists... Anyway blabbing on... For anyone like OP I'd advise a few sessions with a Lynton laser just to lighten up the area and then go and get something you would be more happy with over the top. The extra bit of work can usually allow for even more options when it comes to the cover up. Some advise if you choose to have a few laser sessions. You should not be tattooed until at least 6 months after your last session. This is because *as they advise* the body can take up to that amount of time to reject what Ink that it will. If you go and get a new tattoo theres a risk you could lose ink in the new peice! Anyway, if you have any questions OP I've heard it all in my years at tattoo shops.
There was very little information about it at the time and no places near us which did it which is why I think she did not pursue it further.
Ah checked it out! Sorry for the text wall in that case... but worth a read if you consider future laser
doubt it will be lasered of in the future lol, unless i become like Dr. Evil that has sharks with fricking laser beams attached to their heads and it goes rogue lol
