I am simply restating what a medical professional has said. I'm not sure why a senior nurse would make that statement if it was false. She then literally told me to make the decision of whether to let my gf take Tamiflu now or save it for later! So as far as I'm concerned I am not issuing medical advice, simply restating.
Right so you are just going to blatantly ignore another Moderators warning to NOT stir **** about this issue, and claim it doesn't fall under giving advice, under grammatical technicality because you are reciting what a senior nurse told YOU? That nurse didn't tell me, or anyone else for that matter, to guard their Tamiflu with their life until the situation gets really bad. Your statement was irresponsible and unfounded. If you want to act personally on it - then fine. But you can't think you have the place to recite that sort of thing when lives might depend on it. I realise swine flu might not be that bigger deal - but it has the potential. There are older members on this forum. Swine flu could realistically kill them, especially if they chose not to take their anti-virals under advice given to other, different members of the demographic public. On top of that, you don't have a medical doctorate or anything close to it - set a better example as a mod for christs sake. Some people have dished out some really bad advice on here and you are only condoning it with statements like that. END of story. NO MORE medical advice on this matter. NHS Direct is there for a reason. Pick up the bloody phone if you aren't sure.
I'm going to close this thread. There are already several threads about the spread of Swine Flu and this one seems to straying more towards giving people with swine flu advice. Whether you've survived Swine Flu like Mankz or heard legitimate advice like Wonka doesn't matter - the fact is that this is not what this forum is for. Serious medical advice should be pursued directly from doctors, not anonymous tech enthusiasts who likely don't have all the information at hand and certainly don't understand the complications around individuals who might take advice away from this thread. Even if the information being handed out here is utterly correct, this is not the right forum for it and it's dangerous to hand out advice on this topic so generally. If you are worried about protecting yourself from Swine Flu then there are doctors and governmental agencies set up to help you.
