Ive just had a phone call from my sister, Her tellys died sort of. Its a very old plasma screen (the ones that had a seperate tuner box because it wasnt integrated to the panel). So the panel is fine but its the tuner box thats gone pop, If they connect the lappy up to the monitor it displays perfectly fine. So basically is it possible to bypass the tuner box and connect the sky box directly to the panel and ditch the tuner all together

(possibly scart/rgb---->vga cable?) and sort the sound out some other way?

    any ideas?

    oops forgot that :sigh:

Theres 1 dvi, 1 vga in, 1 vga out, a pair of phono's for audio (red/white) and an rs 232, Its a bit awkward to explain better but ill try. The tuner isnt built into the panel of the telly, it has a seperate box containing the tuner, This box also contains the "normal" connections (scart, component etc)

The telly was set up with sky box connected to tv tuner box via scart lead then from the tuner box to the panel via dvi. The problem is that the tuner box has died and the sky box cant be connected to the panel because of the fact that there are so few options on it. The actual panel is fine because when hooked up via vga to a laptop it displays perfectly with sound using a 3.5mm--->phono adapter from the lappy to the tv.

I was thinking of something like This Ive searched google for the problem but there doesnt seem to be a deffinate answer.

I hope that explains the problem a bit more clearly (probably not :duh:)
