I am thinking of pulling my H60 from my rig because A) I can only get a Scythe Slip Stream 2000 which is 12mm in depth but it is bloody noisy. I am going to try a couple of fans outside of the case see if either of them make a difference. But I am not really keen on that idea as it will spoil the simple looks of my set up.

My other idea was to fit a Arctic Freezer 11LP this and wondered if it would handle a modest over-clock of my i5 2500K?

Maybe (bit tech review with 4.1ghz 2600k) but not much more than a modest overclock and probably leave the voltages as they are, have you considered other slim fans e.g. coolermaster have the case fans from this slim cooler available separately in the UK if you email them (they said for me back in december that they would be available in 6 weeks).

Cheers, will look into this. But to be honest quietness comes before an overclock and I have spent a small fortune on fans these lat few weeks so if I can get my hands on one of these this will be the last fan I get for a while.

I had those fans, don't be offended but they are total rubbish!

I'm using a Freezer 11 LP on my i3, its a 65W part and it maxes out at full load at 53C, its even the best ventilated case either. Its pretty much silent too.

Thanks for the tip, I think I will forget about the H60 and an overclock for the time being. I have couple fans coming this week, will try them and then decide what to do. But the scythe will need to go it is really annoying as it has a winey sort of noise.

When the sandys first came out my mate managed to run his 2600k at 4.6 for about two months before upgrading to a h100. Its doable on stock heatsink

can i see an interior pic? i've seen people mount 120mm rads on the roof and the front panel of the v354

do you have space issues even with the roof fan removed?

Will try and get an image up later but as to your question about space. The V354 has a blatant design flaw by having the top fan placement off centre,it is way over to the right which means that even with the H60 and 12mm Scythe fan fitted the 12V ATX connector is hard up against the radiator. I did look at extending the fan holes pattern right across the top of the case but rather than lots of small holes as in the front, Lian Li went for lots of small slots so this would not be easy for me to do.

    Edit: Image. [IMG]

I do have an Arctic Freezer 11LP as it has been fitted in the past but I was hoping to use the H60 for a better overclock but this is proving difficult.

Ah, is that why you were asking about a fan enclosure the other day - you were considering mounting one outside the case?

Could you not mod the case slightly to allow you to move the rad up abit, so it's not so close to the board as it looks like there may be room there for you to be able to drill some mounting holes for the fan, and then cut a section possibly or just drill some holes for airflow to the fan?

Is that because the heatpipes stick out? I solved that problem by gently bending them inwards - worked perfectly!

I did look at the possibility to move the fan/radiator to a more central position on the top of the case but as you can see by the image and something else I think is a design flaw, the air holes are of a slot shape as opposed to the front fan air holes are round.

If the top had been as the front it would have been a simple process to drill more holes and bring the fan right across the top thereby giving me ample room for a 25mm (D0 fan as opposed to the current 12mm. Unless I could match the hole shape then it would not be acceptable and I certainly have not got the skills or the tools to do it and it certainly is not worth the cost of having it done professionally. So a simpler/cheaper option is sought.

Even though I already have to many cases lying around I have an urge for either one of these.

Didn't realise your running Micro ATX was about to suggest a different case.

Is space for the case a issue as you can get a full sized tower or a mid tower for cheaper than those Parvum cases that would give you more room, and allow a better cooler to be used such as the H100i or something like that or even allow you to run push/pull on the H60 which would help with temps.

I have downsized as I can no longer shift the bigger cases due health issues and to be honest I do not want a bigger case. But I will have a look around again and see if there is anything, but most of them I have found are black, to boring. i prefer silver with my blue LED's.

    nope....

there a resistor/cap directly above the PCI-E slot and the 11LP's bracket wont line up with the holes because of it :(

Wow you got a H80 in the CM Elite 120. Simple stock cooler in mine. But I am impressed with the case, plenty of space to stash cables and very quiet. Excellent buy.
