Can you wait until December/January? if so do. Why wait? - Potential Nvidia DirectX 11 card and the release of ATI DirectX 11 card - New Intel CPU (new CPU socket) - Potential Nvidia and other chipset maker motherboard chipset release. - Good motherboards for the new Intel CPU. - Windows 7 officially release. - New SATA 6Gb/s standard... I don't think you can reach such speed, but it's still something. If not: You said 2,000$ and not $2,000. So I guess you wanted to say 2 000$ (metric system), and that the dollar sign location suggest that you are in Canada. If you order form NCIX, my guess is that you are in a region that you only pay 5% tax... therefore, you might fall with items that are a little more expensive than other Canadian store, but after taxes it comes to cheaper. Right? Ok, following 2 000$ Canadian: PSU: Corsair HX620 - 620W Modular PowerSupply CPU: Core i7 920 Motherboard: Gigabyte EX58-UD5 Video Card: BFG GeForce GTX 260 OC MAXCORE559 (186$ after mail in rebate, and considering that you might go with a DirectX 11 card, and it should run all games (expect for Crysis) at max settings at 1600x1200 or lower display) Sound Card: ASUS Xonar DX RAM: Corsair XMS3 Dominator TR3X6G1600C8D 6GB DDR3 3X2GB DDR3-1600 CL 8-8-8-24 HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB 7200RPM 32MB Buffer Dual Processor SATA Hard Drive Case: Antec P182 (you might want to buy is locally as this case is big and very heavy.. it might have expensive shipping, so see for that) Optical Drive: Samsung SH-S223Q/BEBS 22X DVD+-RW SATA DVD Writer Black Lightscribe (Pioneer, ASUS is also good). Monitor: I don't know. Mouse: Logitech MX Revolution Keyboard: Logitech Illuminated keyboard WebCam: Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 Speakers: Logitech Z-4 2.1 or if budget allows Logitech Z-2300 OS: Win7 RC 64-bit and purchase it when it's release. (if you Vista 64-bit for free, that will do) Backup external HDD enclosure (HDD not included, use your old SATA one): Vantec Nexstar 3 External 3.5IN SATA Black Aluminum Hard Drive Enclosure eSATA USB2.0 This computer should all match (design wise) all nicely, with a modern discreet look and look nice in a room or living room.
