I wanna play games like Witcher 2,Shogun 2 & Crysis 1 on ultra or w/e the highest settings are smoothly. Budget:$1300 Main uses of intended build:Gaming Parts required: Previous build information (list details of parts): Monitor resolution:w/e the best is for gaming Storage requirements: will you be overclocking: yes/no (delete as required): if it helps I guess Any motherboard requirements (no. of USB, Xfire/SLI, fan headers): Extra information about desired system:the monitor & OS are part of the budget, don't need a mouse, keyboard,or speakers. Here's my friends build he thought of http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=20947707 & another build http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=14185451
with os and monitor included you wont be able to play games on highest settings for $1000 (£650-£700?)
I haven't looked at US prices, but in English you're looking at around £150-£200 for a low end but reasonable spec monitor, and £100 to £150 for Windows 7 unless you can get a discount. That's £250 to £350 off your budget already. Add in keyboard, mouse, speakers/headset and so on, and the "miscellaneous" things can really add up.
$1000 US won't get you that much, but it will get you a decent rig. You'll lose about $300-$400 on misc stuff.
Nah I don't need speaker a mouse or keyboard. I just need a computer,w7 ($100 on newegg) & a monitor,so that roughly $700 to build my computer. Ideas?
I'd say your probably more looking towards a $1,500 budget, if you want a decent rig and all the other bits, So I came up with this, but as I don't have a clue when it comes to mice or keyboards, (although I've heard good things about the logitech g510) i've left these out Fractal Design Define R3 Black ATX Mid Tower Silent PC Computer Case Item #: N82E16811352002 Return Policy: Standard Return Policy $109.99 SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive Item #: N82E16822152185 Return Policy: Standard Return Policy Protect Your Investment (expand for options) -$5.00 Instant $64.99 $59.99 LG IPS231P-BN Black 23" IPS Panel Full HD Height,Swivel,Pivot adjustable LED BackLight LCD Monitor Item #: N82E16824005234 Return Policy: Limited Replacement Only Return Policy Protect Your Investment (expand for options) -$30.00 Instant $259.99 $229.99 EVGA 01G-P3-1561-AR GeForce GTX 560 Ti FPB (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support FPB Video ... Wow $1,500,I don't think I can do that. Should I go back to $1,000,cuz I just wanna play games on at least high smoothly
yeah builders can do that budget because of oc potential- if I was building, it would be a 560 and then clock the balls off it on top of a real cheap mb/cpu setup which would also be clocked, I mean bottomfeeder cheap- the chips out today by intel oc fine with a hotwheels glued to the top of them.. this saves you a few hundred right off the top and you'll be in the same neighborhood as the guys who run stock setups problem is, if you don't know what your doing.. there's kind of a learning curve- including cooling, case airflow, lapping, knowing how to apply tim, reseating the gpu and mb heatsinks and finally testing if your looking at stock, you'll have to spend quite a bit more for a 570 instead.. I wouldn't even look at the 580 on that budget.. after you've got the video card out of the budget- look at what you have left and try to shoehorn the rest in the most important item in a gaming rig is the gpu.. so 570 stock (around $300) and work from there.. pick up a 1080p monitor.. asus vh series is really cheap http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236079 they have the 2ms(gtg) for 50 bucks more.. up to you- if your fps gaming I'd probably go for the 2ms.. they all suck for fps gaming but it's the best of the field of suck mb/chip is really up to you- anything intel makes today is good to go
I don't what the he'll you just said lol. Is it worth putting in the extra $300 or should I just stick to the $1000 budget?
the first one is alright, but the gpu is quite underpowered if you wanted to play all the games you listed on high settings, you wouldn't be able to, assuming your monitors going to be, 1920x1080. I would also get rid of that h67 board, which is pointless if your using a gpu, and it means you wouldn't be able to overclock the 2500k, stick with a p67 board. Oh and I'd change the case to a Antec 300. But in your mate's build there isn't even a keyboard or a mouse, unless you where planning on getting some rubbish microsoft thing, to get the machine up and running and then save up for a decent keyboard and mouse. The second build isn't bad for the parts you have there i.e. two 560ti's would be able to play the games you wanted on max settings, again assuming monitor is 1920x 1080. But there's no case in that list, no monitor, no keyboard and no mouse, also the asrock extreme 4 would be overkill for you what you want an asus p8p67 board would be fine or the msi p67 gd53 If you really want to get everything in your budget, monitor, keyboard etc and a decent system, you might want to look at an AM3+ rig and just stick a phenom 955 in there for the time being, would save you probably a considerable chunk of money. Would give you a good upgrade path for the future and keep you tide over well for the time being.
think this is the best deal for the money on a kb.. mouse is going to cost some though http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823109149 plus these are spill proof.. when your out of control with that juicebox in your mouth after you got off the console the amd route is probably a perfect idea, like trashcanman is saying.. you'll save quite a bit.. if all your doing is gaming you can cut a lot out of the budget that doesn't matter, stuff is cheap right now but if you can't build/overclock, your stuck with buying better gear good idea to buy a good psu like corsair either way 6950 would be a good deal if they unlocked to 6970.. hear the latest batches don't
from what I seen the unlocked 6950's only gained an extra 2 frames on most games, maybe 3. if an overclocked 6950 locked ain't enough then I doubt unlocking will help him much, better off just using you and trashcans advice and putting more $ to get a better gpu Edit: if u do get a 6950 why not fork up an extra $19 (or borrow from your mum & dad and get the 2gb version) not many games need 2gb but a FEW do (can only think of gta 4 & crysis 2 with high textures at the mo)
