Ok guys and gals, I really need some help, I want to move my computer to another room, but my modem wont stretch that far. So i am going for a wireless network so i can add more computer, need be. But I dont know what i need. I want wireless g, and a wireless access point so that i can add ethernet to my gamecube, which will be next to my computer. So I figured I need a wireless access point, and a network card for my desktop.

can someone give me links to the cheapest stuff, thats good available. Thanks
Next problem is, can I use my computer and an ethernet cable to connect my gamecube to the net if my computer is connected to the net? Thanks

It does not matter if its ADSL or cable. All you are concerned with is your side of the modem. If you are a gamer, I would highly suggest running cat5 cable instead of wireless. Other than that, a quick net search will find the best prices...I use www.pricewatch.com to find great deals.

I cannot help with the gamecube.

You wont notice much of a difference between a wired and wireless network unless your going to be transfering larger files as the bottle neck in your network speed for just net sharing will almost always be your connection as normal connection that downloads at 150KB/sec is only equal to 1.5Mb *notice thats megabit not megabyte* and even the 802.11B is still 11Mb/sec so you wouldnt notice much in the way of a speed difference unless you went to trasnfer larger files...

I would recommend the G as it has a little bit better range than the B....Plus you will have that lil added speed for those speratic file transfers...

Its all the same really....Im a dlink guy myself because I like their software better....Linksys is pretty decent....Netgear is good....SMC is crap.....

Just get an 802.11G 54Mb Router, 1 802.11G 54Mb Wireless adaptor *pc card or pci* per computer unless you want to hardwire one...

By hardwire I mean connect one computer to the router via ethernet to save on costs as most people have their modems close to one pc already
