well more than loading the original sata drivers and showing you the pictures of the whole process i don know what to invent....i`ll take it back to the shop n see what they think... hanks for all your effort though.
i was thinking, find a disc thats bigger than the lappy one, thats IDE, very important! then install xp, and drop the sata drivers into the install, nothing else then pull the lappy disc and use an external caddy to connect and ghost the image across. thats the only sure way i know how, try and pull the sata drivers from the vista install. definate way to make it work.
sorted! Hey guys, I just got xp installed on my vaio nr laptop. I found a guide here on slipstreaming some obscure sata driver into the xp image. Worked a treat, check it out! http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=2713492&postcount=13
Hi Guy, I am having sony vaio VPCEB16FG model with window 7 and i am really fed up from window 7 and i want to install window XP. I tried suggestion given by u guys to modify bios setting but in this vaio model that settings has been disabled and i am not able to do that and second solution was use of USB floppy drive, can anyone suggest how to arrange USB floppy drive. I am having 8 GB USB pen drive can i use that as USB floppy disk drive? or please provide me any other solution. Thanks in advance Lalit
i had vaio with amd motherboard windows 7now i have both 7 and xp (easy bcd needed for dual boot ) my solution very simple- get driver from here http://files.3dnews.org/pub/drivers/ati/?desc=name .driver name- 11-6_xp32-64_raid. begin installation and choose directory to install.installer will extract package and create ATI directory.from now it is no need to continue since we have the driver in ATI folder C:\ATI\Support\11-6_xp32-64_raid\Packages\Drivers\SBDrv\SB7xx\RAID\xp driver name ahcix86 - setup information. you need it for Nlite,to integrate in your own personal setup cd. download Nlite http://www.nliteos.com/download.html or http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/nLite.shtml. install-start load yor xp files from cd or from hdd and next next next click on integrate driver and make bootable iso then next then insert single driver and find it C:\ATI\Support\11-6_xp32-64_raid\Packages\Drivers\SBDrv\SB7xx\RAID\xp then ok and yes then next and burn the iso on blank cd.good luck! worked for me!
