i work in a hospital and i can get my hands on some of this stuff ..dont ask me why on earth it has got into my head about using it instead of water in my rig ???..i did read somewhere before about somebody using vodka in there system ... and i was just wondering would there be any advanage in using this instead of distilled water ..any help here would be great ..i can also get some ammonium nitrate which comes in the cold packs it is in grains and it will drop my temps down as low as -10 to -15 but the fact that my main watercooling loop has a FX55 and 2 x 6800GT's in SLI running of a black ice extreme III with a push -pull seup means that the amount of heat being pushed into the water means that it does'nt stay at -10c for long if i only had some way to condeness it back into the loop ...any how any feed back will be great ...thanks in advance

One thing I know, alcohol kills acrylic waterblocks, so I think water would be best if you use asetek.

    In one word, No.

Alcohol does not agree with acrylic tops. It does not transfer heat well. If it comes in contact with the sort of high currents running in your PC, it will blow up. It is a bad idea.

Ammonium Nitrate makes no sense whatsoever.

Look, if you think you are going to find the magic liquid, I suggest you visit ProCooling where engineering minds much smarter and more experienced than both of us have tried all sorts of concoctions for sound scientific reasons, dismissed even more for sound scientific reasons, and eventually settled on plain old distilled water with anti-corrosives --for sound scientific reasons. This path has been travelled many a time by more seasoned travellers, trust me.

If you don't want to use water, use Fluid XP or use Fluorinert. But don't go poisoning yourself or turning your PC into a bomb.
