They should have come with the motherboard....

If not, I'm not sure, but a standard one may work, since USB 2.0 still uses same ports and wiring.

they're the same. The usb plates I got with my new board with USB 2.0 headers are the same they have been sending out with all of their other boards. The headers/wiring/sockets are all the same.

so if i plug the usb backplates that came with my msi board into the usb 2 ports on the mobo itself it should work?

MSI insisted that i had to but the usb 2 backplate serperatly in the manual.

I smell i money making scam here. :worried:

my board came with two 1.1 headers and two 2.0 headers and they sent one backplate, the manual says I can connect it to any of them for proper installation. I can order more and they only offer the one part number. The headers are the same. The fact that USB 2.0 ports are backward compatible to 1.1 or 1.0 reinforces that fact. Unless MSI did something screwy with the headers on the board :eyebrow:

My new Gigabyte board came with 4x usb 2.0 adaptors on one back plate, plugging into 2 headers on the mobo and an extra 2x 1.1 ports on a separate backplate. It already has 2x usb 1.1 fixed to the board, so im in USB heaven, and its future proof. For a £92 board u get loads of extras.

    I really recommend it! :D

That means that the front USB ports on the Lian li in question should be perfectly capable of running usb 2.0

Ok I am about to try putting the USB 2.0 in to action but before I do it why is there an extra ground plug on the USB 2.0 socket? As there are already two on the part?? Should I just ignore this plug?

Probably for shielding purposes, to help with the higher data rates involved in USB 2.0
