I want to access all the computers on my network, but some of them give me the error "The network path was not found", and stating that I might not have access to them.

What I mean by this is I want to be able to go to \\COM1831\C$ and access the files there, or simply browse printers and faxes on COM1831 so I can add printers to that machine.

    Any tips?

Also, is there a way for me to "manage" the local machine from my PC? So if I do have access to the machine I can add domain users to the local administrators group?

For those that haven't seen my past 10 posts, I'm the Domain Admin on a Windows server 2003 powered Active Directory domain, so yes, I should have access to all the machines.

Is the 'server' service running on the machines in question? Administrative shares are disabled if this service is not running.

Nope, the "server" service is running.

Okay. Now what about the Computer Browser and Remote Procedure Call services? Check all the dependencies for all the services involved.

If still no joy...then I guess you won't be very happy, eh?
