Not a good thing. The paste now has some of your finger goo (hands always have a little bacteria, sweat and grease) in it and isn't performing 100%.

Not sure if this is the cause (propably not) but next time you do it, don't touch the paste or the surfaces with your bare skin. :thumb:

+rep!! Thanks! So simple yet I didn't think to check!! CPU-Z was reporting above 1.2v (can't remember exactly) so I manually set the vCore to 1.2v, the idle temp hasn't changed much but the load temp @ 3.3Ghz is now 65 degrees! Thanks again :thumb::clap:

There was a "sandwich bag" over my finger, wouldn't dare touch it bare lol. This method has always served me well.

To be totally honest a little grease won't make any noticeable difference.

    Glad it's sorted. :D

I'm guessing by your picture that your adding a second loop? If not, what's the second res for? Do you have another rad?

Also, I would still look for more damping material to get in between the pump and the mounting bracket. I ended up using Scythe hard drive mounting screws (some silent system of theirs that was relatively cheap and comes with awesome huge rubber gasket screw thingy's ) that makes my DDC sound like . . well nothing really as I can barely hear it.

Your RPM wire sounds faulty. Can you get reading a reading from the new installed pump? If not then you may have a different issue at hand.

If you want to monitor your pump speed the 2 best (and easiest) ways are hardware based - Mcubed or Aquaro . Both will require an additional accessory purchase to be able to do that, so it's really a matter of which software you like.

last questions, do you know which DDC version you have? What's the color of the impeller? And very last, check how tight your XSPC top is, there have been several cases reported that if you crank down on the screws that the top can impede the impeller , so it's a fine line on how 'tight' it should be.
