Windows cannot launch system restore.any way to fix it?

    on my XP pro installation system restore will not fire up. everytime i click on it i get told "system restore app has encountered a problem and needs to be closed." now this has never happened to me ever and i have no idea how to fix it so could anyone help me to get it working again?


    EDIT:i tried clicking the the sys restore tab in my my pc properities and i get the error message "Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close."



    WTF has happened to my pc:waah:

    you need a reinstall of windows, looks like some system files have corrupted them selves.

    GO MICROSOFT :)

    i'm not wiping the disc.i'm going for the up-grade install so hopefully everything will still be there:waah:
