hi people, forgive me if this post is in the wrong place but i had to pass on this link http://www.slrclub.com/bbs/view.php...=off&select_arrange=headnum&desc=asc&no=72342 i was wondering when someone would mod a camera, just needs a few blue leds to finish it off!
I take it that camera isn't available in black? Its a nice job, looks manufactured that way. Hes got more money than I do, no way I would take apart my digital camera.
Wow, that kicks serious butt! When I saw the camera body in the blasting cabinet, I was like this guy is serious. Then the lettering and paint proved it. Does seem like he'd go for something wilder than black but it does look good.
Particularly impressive when you condider that his camera was worth more than my entire athlon64 rig, including the 17"TFT!
yah very impressive but if your gonna go thru all that work give it like a chameleon or metallic flake paint job
As crazy as that was to open a digital camera that expensive... why for just a paintjob?! *sigh* They really love their computers/digital toys.
Yer! a Canon SLR! they are the most expensive Digital camera's you can find. He did a very good job on it. but i would be worried about those letters comming off and the "CANON" lettering on the front looks out of place as someone else said.
Not so expensive as you might think. It's a Canon EOS 300D Digital SLR. First 'affordable' pro camera from Canon, retails for about 1200 euro's. I want it If he'd hacked up a EOS 1D-MKII then i would bow to him, for sure!
I must say that he was at leat smart enough to do it in what appears to be a clean room (I can't read...Japanese, I think it was, so I don't know for sure). Quite an intrepid spirit though, Mod On!
with the exchange rate being what it is, you can pick these up for about £500 in america if any of you guys are going on holiday! ps, a couple of photo links http://www.dpreview.com/ http://www.fredmiranda.com/
forgive me, but that seriously looks like a luxeon star in that little bucket i duno, i suppose they could use it for the flash... i think it should work well. but, that paint job is very kickass. i wonder where he got those letters. i suppose if you had one of those CAD vnyl cutters like i got at school i could make my own but it would be sweet to buy a sheet of letters like that.
I think it's the camera's D-Pad, if we're looking at the same thing in the same bucket? [ lowest bucket, thing that kinda makes a circle on almost upper left? ]
