Hi all, been bashing my head against the wall trying to figure this out so just gonna ask and hope for some help:wallbash:. What is the best 120mm x 120mm x25mm fan that i will be able to control the speed using Lamptron FC2 controller. Iv'e seen some from Silver Stone, Thermaltake,Scythe and Antrc just not sure which one to go with :(

    Depends what case you got.

If you can accommodate the anti-vibration (no screw shroud on this fan in other words!) attachments of the Be Quiet! Silentwings USC then that 120mm fan works really well with the Lamptron from personal experience. I can warn you away from Akasa Apache fans as that does not play nice with the Lamptron, at low voltages the fan cuts out completely where as the Be Quiet! needs very little v to get spinning.

I'm a big supported of the Sharkoon Golf Balls. I've got two of the 1000s, a 2000 and 2 of the SE fans. Brilliant, all of them.

PS - Writing about fans is hard. I almost wrote 'I'm a massive fan of the....' and 'Fantastic, all of them' and even 'writing about fans sucks' all totally accidentally.

The best fan I've ever used, bar none, is the Akasa Apaches. Silent, powerful, and PWM.

The scythe gentle typhoons are pretty good. Aria have AP fan at half price ATM making them only 6.50 each. They are slightly louder than the other fans mentioned but the fan controller should fix that.

With the dial right down on the Lamptron the Akasa Apache just emits a buzzing noise because it's not getting enough voltage to start. The Be Quiet! fan can start at this low voltage and has variable speed right to the dial set to 11.
