Can't empty trash to free space to boot ubuntu...

    Can't empty trash to free space to boot ubuntu...
    i try ctrl+alt+f2 and i cannot empty the trash can... just says preparing to do it and no progress.i have a ext2fs program on xp on my dual boot but i cant view my file system to manually delete it off the partition in windows:mad: so i'm stuck as i can't empty the trash:S
    any ideas or wipe partition and start again:S:mad:???

    Try emptying it as root... In a terminal
    Code:
     sudo rm -rf /path/to/trash
