on my x1800xt i was at the very least setting the overclocks on ati overdrive to maximum never mind running over that.. with this x1900xt i cant even go over about half way on overdrive.. putting my vf900 on there has lowered temps a bit so its not overheating however after running 3dm05 for about a minute it gets crazy red splodges everywhere then locks up.. vpu recover comes along to save the day however

is this something a lot of people are finding or am i super unlucky. ive have a look at voltages tomorrow but it shouldnt need any increases to run overdrive surely

Depends on how much "overdrive" you're giving it. Your X1800XT was probably just a very good 'clocker.
What makes you think your X1900XT should have to do the same?

im not trying a lot higher just like 650/750 which seems very conservative but even that is shaky. while im aware overclocking isnt a given it just seems this card doestn want any of it, tho i have seen quite a few people getting relatively low clocks on the x1900 so it probably isnt just me

Have you tried using ATiTool instead? I know it's disappointing when something doesn't OC properly, but it might be tough tbh. :p

on my x1900xt 256MB. i get about +5mhz on the core at stock volts. but increse it to 1.4 on the core. and it reaches 725mhz. max volts the core kept going till my psu cut off  (this is with ati tool btw)
so you might want to try a little more volts. and see if that helps you core go further
    good luck :p :thumb:
