Sup guys Re-installing windows for a client, and done that fine, the only problem I need to sort before it's ready for pickup is the sound driver. Put bluntly I can't find it. It's a computer built by time *shudder,* with what I presume to be the model name on top (Time S27). When posting, where you would find the mobo model on a gigabyte board it comes up with W6787vms, which i've tracked down to be an MSI board. BUT I still can't find the drivers, time don't have any on the site, and I don't think that line of text is the mobo model, so i'm kinda at loggerheads trying to find it. I'd rather not take it apart to find out, as it's not exactly tidy in there, so anyone got any ideas where to find them Thanks in advance
I reckon it'll be an AC97 chipset. May help a bit if you look round the board for chips with an ID on them
Found it, had to go rooting inside in the end as Doug said....managed to track it down via the southbridge...oh and for the record it was the VIA ac97 codec..
thats good, atleast it wasn't one of those new bloody HD Audio soundcards they are putting on them, they could drive you insane
Does anyone currently have the mobo audio working okay on a Time S27 (MS-6787 Ver 2.0 mobo) with Windows XP? I have tried MSI's Live Update; the driver it installs runs, but there is no sound.
