HTPC Can't make my tv tuner to work

I recently, let me refrase it... I bought 5 hours ago a Norwood Micro Notebook Cardbus TV Tuner Adapter. I have been breaking my head trying to make it work, but nothing happens. Each time I open the program that comes with the tv tuner and it says that there is an error "Error Findinterface - IID_IAMTVTuner". Then after I click "ok" to the error message the program comes out, but there is no action like an image or a life signal that is working.

My computer is a HP Pavillion dv5030us. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ummm, I recently had a problem like this with my tv tuner, Try going to the device manager and looking under sound ,video and game controllers. Make sure that your tv tuner is showing up their. It doesnt even seem like it is recognizing your card. Are you sure you installed the card correctly? Did you install the drivers correctly? After installing the card did a window pop up saying new hardware found? If not it may not be recognizing your card. Thats all i can say for right now, try reseating the card then start it back up and see if anything happens. BTW to get to the device manager right click my computer and go to properties/hardware/device manager. Welcome to the site. I hope that helps at all.

 

It said hardware found, it is on the device manager, but the PC is not giving me the option to remove hardware, i don't know if it is supposed to give it, but I watch the card and the LED bulb isn't turned on. i'm here checking whether i installed the correct drivers.

 

Im having the same problem with the same product, Alejandro. I bought it yesterday, returned it for replacement, thinking it was defective. Same problem as you described. I hope someone helps us.

I've had my TV Tuner functioning for almost two years with no inconveniences.
Yesterday I deinstalled my Norton AV and installed AVG, SpywareBot, and others and then my TV Card stopped working.

I've deinstalled the HonestTech software, deleted the device in order to get it detected again and nothing.

Same message.

Check for the error message. In case that the error message shows the .exe file then try donloading the latest version from the manufacturers site, otherwise, if you have let's say a.dll error, just delete the dll from system32. I had the same problem with winfast tv2000xp
the updated software solved the problem. the dl thingy asweell good luck
