It is from 2008 though :( I ordered an extra data cable anyway though :D But people have upgraded their 540's before and they got on alright.

That person put in a 5850, and I'm putting in a MSI reference 6870. Only thing I'm worried about is the size of the power supply. But I hope it'll work out :3

I would try and spring for a better PSU, like a Corsair unit, as Thermaltake PSUs are pretty naff.

Bit late... :( I did get good reviews though. I don't really mind as long as it works :D I think the thermaltake is a bit bigger than the corsair but I'd hope it would still fit.

EDIT: Yeah, my psu is a bit longer but that doesn't really matter.

Your not alone on the 24 pins they sometimes require an absurd amount of force they should really come up with a better design for them

+1 on the 24 pins. But they are tough little buggers to get out for a reason, you wouldnt want them falling out mid-session.
May i be the first to suggest getting a new case for your build? Might be better than what Dell offer. IDK about the warranty though.

Hmm. Just realised I didn't uninstall my GPU drivers. Will this be a problem when I install my new card?

Shouldn't be, just do a clean sweep once the new graphics card is installed and after it's clear install the correct drivers.

Do you mean reinstall windows? Because I just spent all weekend redownloading all my games after my last fresh install. :D

No, once you install your GPU, boot up and install the most current set of drivers

Got my power supply in. It involved bending a lot of my case :D But a least it's in. Can't hook up my blu ray drive though. Guess I'll just move it down a slot.
