    Lo guys :D

I'd like to get a new headunit for my car, decided the one I want is the Sony CDX-M730, pictured below. The cheapest place I have found in the UK is £240. I'd like to know if there is anywhere cheaper.. or if I could get the same unit from the US and use that. I've heard that it will all work perfectly, it will work apart from the radio, the radio will work apart from the RDS. Help!

Cheapest I could find was £249 Inc Vat & Carriage, but for that price you could get yourself a nice MP3/WMA playinh unit...?

I probably wouldn't use the mp3/wma anyway, and besides, this one looks better :D

At Crutchfield.com here in the states where i bought my car audio that deck is 269.99 so using XE.com's currency convertor I got 172.00 pounds. Not sure if thats right though. Then you add in shipping, but it includes the wiring harness and the installation guide. Hope that helps.

I've never understood the point of a remote in a car... how far could you possibly be to need it? in the boot?

The remote is for when the front thing is folded up and the buttons are not accessible. :D

oooh chrixy, that looks sweet! I paid £270 2 years ago for one of the first kenwood mp3 cd players, and that was cheap! It still works as well as ever, but you get more for yoour money now by the looks of tings! :D

I haven't bought replacement speakers yet, i'm looking around for what to get at the moment because the stock ones are poor. Any recommendations would be good! :)

Thats nice mate, I was about to post saying 'don't by the Sony, Alpine & Pioneer own 'em for car audio and Panasonic/Technics stuff ain't bad either' but you made a good choice :D

I will want a new HU for my car when I finally pass my test tbh, the standard Sony ones ok, being a CD player, but not mp3 CDs or having a very powerful amp stage (hence replacing the pap standard speakers is difficult :S)
