I'm sure people have done this and posted about this out the wazoo, but can I use my car CD changer at home, and just wire it to my regular stero? (via replacing the antenna, because I don't pick up any stations anyway... stupid mountains, grumble grumble) I'd love to be able to use it in the computer, but I'm thinking more trouble than it's worth. (separate PSU? parallel port interface? no digital, simply analog audio via the soundcard?) Anyway, ideas on either topic are welcomed. (If you can't tell, I'm gathering and posting as many ideas as possible, and as they become more refined and in my financial and time contrained abilities, I'll do them!) Thanks!
depends, im sure it can be done somehow, especially if the cd changer is idependent from the in dash unit....
A friend of mine had his entire setup for his bedroom all car audio. He had a custom built entertainment system with a car tuner, cd, and minidisc player, amps, and speakers. Don't know how he wired it all, it was quite some time ago, but this is surely possible. I would guess he used an inverter or power-supply of some kind to drive it all. I do remember that he had to specifically buy car speakers because of impedance issues with amps. It was a pretty sweet system.
