I used to say the same thing, well I'll always say the same thing for racing, but for everyday driving and I guess 'cos i'm not a spring chicken anymore, manual has become a bit of a pita! Automatic is luxury, just like power steering and electrics A paddle shift with full auto mode setup is perfect for the roads imo, but unless you've also got a slipper clutch for down shifting, you'd want manual for the track.
Well i can drive stick just in the city its horible. And i look every where autotrader, yahoo autos, car auctions, Fleabay, Craigslist, And dealerships Those stupid paddle shifty gear flaps i hate those things with a passion!! I test drove a lexus with one so did my dad, he didnt mind it i hate it i help hitting them when i turn( not changing gear just bumping my fingers into them) Stick with the old stick gear boxes or an automatic no flappy steering wheel crap i mean it looks like it has wings and is going to fly off the hub and kill everyone
Semi-automatics (twin clutch gearboxes), theoretically best of both worlds. I personally don't like them though. Drove the Alfa paddle-shift gearbox and the Renault twin-clutch sequential one. None of them functioned properly when in manual mode. If you're only going to drive them in auto-mode you might as well stick to "conventional" torque-converting auto's. I had auto and stick-shift, and with practice, there's no difference in city driving. It's a cultural thing I guess, in Europe automatics are uncommon and stickshift is the norm. If you're used to things the othe way round, your viewpoint will be different.
I'm stuck in a pickle of pickles. My uncle just put up for sale his 2005 Chevy Colorado it has 90k miles but it beautiful haha
If for you, a feckin' huge Pickuptruck, a Scion and a Porsche are in the same league...yes, you're into a pickle
I'm not sure you're upstate enough to rock a Colorado! Lovely truck, but the ones I've seen in the flesh looked better in the Rockies, than the Denver burbs. Still, a far more normal and reasonable choice though
