I use Swintons as a insurance broker and they found me "Provident Insurance plc."

In a category C area (Reading) with no no-claims, only passed my test in January...£150 TPFT with a 2½ year old Honda CB500 motorbike (fully comp would be £330).

The joys of being over 25, and having a non-sportsbike (still goes like the clappers).

Prices for insurance, there is no one good cheap company, there are too many variables...just gotta go through each company and get some quotes (best to telephone as well I find, online quotes for me were rarely competitive). If you want to find the best quote, get ringing around...there are 'a few' places to try if you want the best deal ;)

However tbh I think your phone bill would be as much as the policy if you rang every single one and starting playing one off against the other ('I can get x car insured for £xxx, can you beat it?') :duh: but theres a few options for you anyway!

Another place is the autotrader website as you can compare quite a few websites, by only putting the info in once

I'm going with Norwich Union when i insure my car, which will be my first car. For a mk3 Vauxhall Astra 1.4 its around £1600 3rd party. But, if i do pass plus like i plan on doing it'll knock 48% off that price. So i'll be paying just over £800. Pretty damn good considering.

You could try using confused to get the cheapest quote from many insurers sent to you e-mail adress. Personally I've always found admiral the cheaper insurer of the large companies. And their 10 month bonus excelerator is pretty handy if you want your premiums to come down fairly quickly.

Confused.com was fantastic for me - changed from AXA to churchill and saved around 30 quid a month. (Still about a grand to insure tho - only got 1yrs no claims and live in an F area)

What really annoys me though is the fact that i have to pay extra because I pay monthly. If i paid the full sum up front i'd save 100+ quids.

That link is not correct as it says in my area my bike has to be garaged but thats not true. I do have it garaged but my sister in law lives in a similar postcode (E*) area and doesn't have it garaged. Also confused.com is only good for cars but poor for bikes.
