Still seems excessive. For £1,500 I can get insured on a BMW 530d or an Audi A8. How bizzare.

Depends on where you live and what you do also. I didnt put down student, thank god, I put myself down as a "Scientific Researcher" which, technically I am, but I dont have pass plus either :( If I put my addy down as the place where I am in London then it's £200 more than in Cardiff :eeek:
How old are you? How long have you been driving etc? My car is only a group 4 :(

I'm 18, 1 years NCB, driving 1 year, living in Horsham, car salesman, 30k miles a year, group 15. I think maybe my insurance company made a mistake.

    :eeek: 30k miles! Group 15!

What do you drive? Does your company pay insurance and fuel?

Bearing in ming this is for my motorcycle 125cc 53 Plate

If you've got some spare time, get out the yellow pages select about 20 companies then ring them all.

    1st Year:
Rung around NU turned out to be the cheapest, TheAA quoted me £1700!
Went with Norwich Union for £1100 FC

    2nd Year:
Rung around again the following year now with 1YR NCB. NU Renewal Quote £1000 !
Premium Choice Insurance turned out to be the cheapest that year @ £650 FC + Breakdown Cover + Free Curtesy Bike + Puncture Assistance

    3nd Year:
Another year and rung around again, My renewal quote from Premium Choice supurising turned out to be the cheapest at £400 FC + Breakdown Cover + Free Curtesy Bike + Puncture Assistance.

Ive also noticed that online quotes if anything are over inflated and you can often find mich better quotes by ringing the companies up.

Also ring them up at the end of the month your more likely to get them to knock money off your quote as the sales people need to meet their sales target, you win, they win! trust me it does work.

I run my own VW Passat 1.8 20v Turbo Sport Saloon, I pay for insurance and my fuel, and I do about 30k a year in that car.

But I get a company car for work purposes which I probably do 10k a year in, which work pays for the car, insurance, and fuel.
