They only get around 12 stock. And about performance, Lets see you get a 6400lb 4wd Automadic SUV down the strip in the same time as a corvette, ok? The H2 is a great off roader to. Try it before you troll.

I bet my right testicle that the closest any H2 comes to 'off road' is the grass verge while mummy picks her kids up from soccer practice...

That the people who buy them don't read the owners manual ;)

Replacing the timing gear on a front-engined Ferrari is a 4 hour job.

    Replacing it on a mid-engined Ferrari is a 3 day, engine-out job.

So it get's 12MPG stock, but when you add 430HP it jumps up to 19MPG. Gotcha!

Nothing with a GM truck IFS is a great off-roader. Give it portal axles from an H1 and then we can talk.

It gains fuel economy from the ECU tuning and all the mods to improve efficiency. The reason the H2 has a different rear suspension than the H1 is to allow more ground clearance.

"Much more than simple transportation, a HUMMER is a powerful off-road machine designed to traverse sand, mud, rocks and water. The H2 meets many of the military specifications of its cousin the HUMVEE, like climbing a 60 percent incline, a 60 percent decline and an unnerving 40 percent side slope. The H2 also is capable of climbing 16-inch ledges, fording 20-inches of water and mastering boulders, logs and ditches. "

All I'm saying with the courtesy car is that they should at least try to make you feel like they wan't you to keep on being their customer, and giving you and old piece of s*** isn't goingt to help.

Oh yeah, and he's loking at buying a Maserati to replace the Aston.

I *think* that the Arnage T is to replace the Range-Rover while the Maserati is to replace the Aston.

Expensive car's aren't all that great imho. :)

It dosent matter if it was made in the stonage, the lamborghini is nothing that I like. Give me a Humer H1 with that big honking diesel and I wont buy another car as long as I live.

BTW its called a humer now but it was built in the 70's as a military vehicle. so I should say Humvee or something.

Whatever, you prefer the lamborghini and I prefer the humvee.

But if you truly want a vehicle that will never breack down under daily use, get a peterbilt truck remove the trailer raise it or lower it acording tot he climate you want or have air suspension and adjust it as you go and use it as a daily driver. Cupled with a cummings diesel v8 (14L) and posibly a turbo and a heavy dudty non syncronised profi tranny and you got yourself a vehicle that will outlive any human on the planet. And the beauty of it all is if you do it rite the only plastic/ruber parts will be your tires and maybe your shifter knob.

I have a Skoda Fabia 1.9TDI. It's all VW/Audi parts, cost me less than £12.000,-- brand new, does 0-60 in under 10 secs with torque greater than that of a Porsche 911. It does 40 mpg city driving, 60 mpg on the motorway. In the five years I've owned it, it has never broken down or had a single fault. Even in the coldest winter, after two weeks of being parked outside, the engine starts within one second. It goes everywhere, does everything.

It has ABS and traction control. It has a Grundig 8 speaker stereo that goes so loud it makes your ears bleed (in fact, I've never dared turn it up full). It has climate control. It has electric windows and heated mirrors. It has seats that know more positions than the Kama Sutra (heated, optional).

Maintenance and sevice costs me £200,-- a year. Insurance is class 6.

Aston, schmaston. Who in their right mind buys a 100+ grand fuel guzzling prima-donna monster that costs a fortune to insure and maintain? Choose real life. Choose a real car.

indeed.... actually, any properly maintained and cared for (american) car can manage to break 150,000, and most well maintained japanese cars will go over 300,000 (case in point, my high school physics teacher's 1991 honda civic hatchback with 331,000 and still counting last time I saw him).... i've also seen old volvos with over 400k before....so it's all on the owner and maintenance.

and tbh the H2 is a piece of **** and the shear concept of modding it's gm made 6l vortect is a pile of crap as well... and if i recall, it gets 10/12 in stock form for fuel economy.... which translates into 11mpg on average, and penski, as much as i hate to admit it, is right, the majority of H2's never see worse than a wet field or a pot hole.

as for the aston & range rover.... when you buy top of the line cars, expect to pay top of the line prices to have them repaired and if you can afford them in the first place, you should be able to afford to repair them. and be glad your dealer even gives you a loaner, as that's a very uncommon practice at most dealers in my area (i think the only one that gives out a loaner near me is the mitsubishi dealer)

Dual exhaust, headers, better air filter, and light tuning of the ecu will give you better mileage if you keep your foot out of the throttle. A 6.0 Liter V-8 stroked/bored to 6.8 Liter AND a Supercharger pumping the power up to 750HP from 320HP WILL NOT allow an H2 to get 19MPG.

    THEY ARE LYING.

I never mentioned anything about the rear suspension either. But since you, Froggy, did..the H2 has ~35" tires with a solid rear axle. The Hummer has 37" tires with independent portal axles all around. The H2 doesn't have more rear or front ground clearance.

The reason it has a notoriously weak GM truck IFS (Independent Front Suspension) and a live rear axle is to allow GM to sell the H2 cheaper than the H1.

There's no comparison between an H1 or Unimog and the H2.

    You whiney stuck up snob!

You should be thankful that your family can afford those cars to start with! And you should also be thankful that you actually got courtesy cars!

Admittedly, my dad drives a Range Rover, but when it breaks down (which it does, often, as every other range rover owner in the world will know), we don't get a courtesy car from Land Rover, we just stick to our other car, a peugeot 206, although yeah, a freelander to drive around in would be nice, as the 206 doesn't take too well to fields and stuff...

I think you need to get down to earth a bit...
