Graphics card length

Does the 7900 or 7800gt exceed the length of 7 inches? Just making sure because I wanted to get a 7800 gtx but they are all way too long for my case. Thanx.

 

I'm not at home right now so I couldn't tell you, but my 7900GT is shorter than my friends 7800GT and is also shorter than my motherboard at 9.45"

 

If the GTX is the same size as the X1900XTX which I have, the card is LONG. I think it's 9 inches or something. I briefly had a 7900GT from BFG (reference board - but blue colored PCB), and it was a little over 7,3/4" - close to 8 if you include the space for the PCIe power connector.

I'm going to guess the 7800GT would be the same size as the 7900GT.

 

The 7800GT is a big card, but I can't really be bothered to go inside my case to measure it.

It's not. The 7900GT is shorter by a noticeable amount...

 

For gods sake, someone open the case and measure it... No use in disputing the relative length, just measure it...

i have an x1900xt and it's almost as long as my mobo is deep

 

Anyways, my X1800 XT is 9 inches, my friend owns a 7800 GT which a bout 1 inch less than my X1800 xt so about 8 inches and looking at this pic the 7900 GT comes up to the vregs on the X1800 XL which measures in at 7.6 inches.

eh i guess ill just buy the gtx and have to cut the case to make it fit. I want a really high end card since my x800 pro wasnt good enough imo.
