    Hey all,

Need some input on switching my case.

Ive been looking at getting an Fractal R3 as i like the minimlistic design and think it would fit well in my new office.

I currently have an aging Antec 1200 which while awesome at cooling and looks fairly nice (tastes change i guess) is rather loud and a bit of a dust magnet.

Im wondering if the R3 will be up to the task of cooling my i7 920 @4Ghz (current load temps of 65-75C)

was thinking about adding 1 or maybe 2 of the 140mm optional fans in the R3 to compensate prehaps ?

Also i own a Corsair H50 working on a intake in the rear exhaust at the front setup (NO JOKES LOL)

Anyone got an experience with using an H50 in an R3 ?

does anyone have any other suggestions about a case similar to the R3 ?

    thanks

What about a 650D? Bit too large?

The define r3 would be fine, its an excellent case with great cooling ability.
Fan wise, a powerful fan at the back as exhaust plus 2 at the front would create a good positive air pressure forcing any hot air out of any gaps in the case (air that hasnt already been axhausted) and better still, a lot less dust as-well.
If you have a gpu in there then put a fan in the bottom as-well.
As for the H50, no problems fitting at all just not too sure as to the best way to set it up in an R3 as ive had no experience with them.

The H50 attaches to the rear fan mounts usually and draws air IN which is why i was wondering if i could turn the airflow aroundand maybe exhaust at the top instead

I'm currently running with 2 front intakes, 1 floor intake and 1 rear exhaust. Cooling my 930 @ 3.8 pretty well, loads at about 60-65 with HT off and 75-80 with HT on. I'm not rocking the most powerful fans, but it sure is quiet.

I have found however that losing any of the modu-vents, and I've tried a 140mm fan in the roof, does let more noise out, especially graphics card fan noise.
