I'm having some problems on deciding which case to get for my next modding frenzy. It used to be so easy to decide, but now theres SO MANY crap cases, its hard to find the good ones :)
I was looking at the InWin Q500, because its nice and tall, can fit a couple of fans in the front bezel and there is plenty of room for all the stuff i'm gonna want to put in there. However when i was thinking about putting a window into this, u run into the problem of having a big metal bar running across the middle of your window! You could of course make the window smaller, but then i wouldn't be able to show off my PSU mods :(

So i've started looking at smaller cases, i've currently got a globalwin 802, which is nice, but i don't want another. My friend recomends the coolermasters, however i'm really after a steel jobbie, as i want to airbrush the case. I've been browsing for ages and can't seem to find anything decent :(

Anyway, reccomend me some cases and i'll look into them :)
no doubt you will see a project log coming from me this summer :)
    Cheers guys,
    Sean :dremel:

said big bar aint really an important part of the case, all it does is support the floppy, hdd, psu etc. You should be able (with careful cutting and a drill) take it out and use that bar to support the fdd hdd etc all you need to do is attach it to the case at an angle so that it attaches at the inner end and the front of the case (making a triangle - the strongest shape) and do the same thing with the psu side. You'll probly need to cut the window so that it isn't showing whats left of the bar, or of course you could cut 2 windows one for the top and one for the bottom.
As for case choice i know nothing as i dunno any of the names(although i do like the look of the sr-71) its all down to how far you want to take your modding i have the same problem, though i think i'm just gonna go for a smaller window and some decals or artistic work at the top.
