    Hey guys and gals,

I am pretty bored of my coolermaster cm690 (the original one). I have modded it to fit my 240 rad and normal fans, and I am just sick of the set up and don't think its giving me the best performance or the lowest sound levels.

So far I have looked at the ATCS 840, but that thing is so deep it would be a hazard in my room :p. I have looked at the utgard which is also nice, but around the same size as my current case (I am thinking about graphic card lengths here) and I am not sure if its sleek enough for my liking. The cosmos line are nice, but a little too "gamer" for me.

So really my wants and needs are

    • Something bigger than mid towers, but not as deep as the atcs 840
    • Something that will fit in 240 rad without any/much modding
    • Something that looks pretty sleek
    • I wouldn't mind a door to keep my dual bay res/pump a little more quiet.
    • Sub £160 would be good.
    • I don't care if its made out of steel, alu or cheese tbh.

Cosmos S is pretty perfect for watercooling, as you can fit upto a 360 radiator in the top of the case.

If you want an absolute monster, so big that you could live in it ,have a look at the thermaltake mozart Tx, it's got absolutely acres of space. In fact I reckon you could get all you're gear in it and still slip in a bed and a mini fridge

Cheer for the input guys. I may just go the cosmos route, I am still not 100% sold on the looks though. That thermaltake is outrageously massive, I cannot imagine how funny it would look in my room haha.

I am back looking at the utgard though, I just want to check to see how well it would do with 240 rads as the fan spacing issue seems a bit silly.

If you want the best case for watercooling, then the best option would be the Temjin TJ07. from first hand experience its easy to work with and can fit radiators like the huge pa 120.4 quad and still have space for a dual in the front 5.25" drive bays or in the roof with a bit of modding. Its quite expensive however, and the aluminium requires more care than the steel of other cases, but a final plus would be its cable managing abilities with the compartmentalised structure allowing the bigger cables to be routed behind the motherboard tray via extensions.

If you read his post, you would have seen that his budget is £160. The TJ-07 is £90 more.

I suggested it as an option, but its up to him what he spends the money on. At the £160 price range there isn't that much in choice with some cases like the cosmos being really quite awful for GPU cooling.

Really? My OC GTX 275 never hits more than 75 under full load, and thats with only the 120mm fan in the front of the case and a 120mm in the top, I took the big side panel fan out.

Overall i love the cosmos S, its the best case ive had, including some lian lis in the past. The only downside is that the shiney top plastics love dust!

How is it awful for GPU cooling? It has a 200mm fan on the side panel directly next to the GPU - my 260 GTX hits 70C load, which is pretty damn good for a GPU.
