well, he said paint-wise. and that looks like a drawing or an aluminum case. so, you either buy an aluminum case, or buy some kind of metallic finish paint or metallic flim and cover your case with it. why imitate? do something original.
I've been trying to think of someting original for two months now. The main problem being their are not enough cases to choose from on the market. I'm tired of messing around I just want a nice case. That cutout was done by a laser too. The only thing I would change is the 'voodoo' on the side. Instead I would just put Coolermaster in white. The case was painted but I'm tring to figure out how I can make it do that fade nicely. If everyone was orignal then Lian Li would be out of business, only one person would have a Antec case and Painting your monitor would be unheard of.
no, i mean some original modding. LL wouldn't be out of business because people would still buy the cases, just do different mods. and sure, i'm not saying everything has to be original. i'm just saying it's more fun sometimes. but if this is what you want, great. and i didn't know the paint actually faded. i thought it was just the lighting of the pic.
Yeah, I'm 90% sure that fade is from lighting. But if you wanted to do a fade like that, an airbrush would be your best bet.
If anyone wants an original idea, they can take mine, because I don't have the time or money for it... make a cardboard case! I know everyone's made one before, but what about a cardboard tower? I've got some cutout drawings and ideas for reinforcing it to make it strong if anyone is interested... I'll make scaled layouts upon request (a week after probably though) my thoughts are use lacquer to stiffen the cardboard too... and make a cool painting fade thing! (definitely would reccomend the airbrush)
YO i've never used an air brush before, any websites or somting I could check out for more information?
If you're thinking of using an airbrush be warned that it does take a LOT of practise to get a really good finish, especially if you want to get any artwork done. I'm an arty person (specialise in pencil and graphite drawing tho') and I took over 6 mths to learn how to do just some of the range of effects you can do with an airbrush. If you're buying one I'd say firstly get a compressor driven one for reliable propellant flow and second pay as much as you can for the best model you can - the quality makes a huge difference to both the quality of the spraying you can do and also the ease of setting up various effects/ precision. Go and have a go tho' - I really enjoyed doing my bit of air brushing - you might even decied that you want to spray a design on the side of your case I like Badger airbrushes by the way - Ive got one (old internal mix ) and they're very very nice to use and not too expensive look at www.badger-airbrush.com
Oi! stop stealing my Ideas! http://www.jumptec.de/product/data/components/dimmpc486.html add on the ethernet controller and make CokeSERV, (or Pepsi or Tango, hey why not collect them all!) or why not smaller!.....http://wearables.stanford.edu/hardware.html
That matchbox webserver is well impressive, has it got a firewall? *groans at bad joke * I'll get me coat!
Hey if you need a specific case to do mods you must be misunderstanding the word creativity. You can mod anycase. try to work with what you have and make it better. sometimes it will look stupid. BTW why not a case made from an old switch or router?
during a very bored time in my life, i was sitting around and noticed that my dad's guitar amp would be very suitable for a computer, with the speakers out and everything, it would look very cool if u could use the nops on the front for like a rheobus and the power switch for power. yeah, it would be cool to see a computer go into an Amp, but i dont have time, money, or a system to try it
