Whats the best way to paint your case - given thats its plastic - i heard that some spray paints can melt some plastic - do i need to use a special kind of paint?

    Cheers,
    Jeff.

First of all, you have to sand the part down. Go from 180 grit to 240 to 400 to 600 to 800 to 1200. Then you start priming, but make sure the surface is clear off sandingdust and such. You can either use a plasticprimer, specially desgined for plastic or an ordinary primer for all purposes. You could first use the plasticprimer, then the all purpose primer aswell. If you are looking for a serious finish, try wetsanding between the primer layers, as you want to lay down a couple of them. Then start painting with the colour of your choice, remember, if you're using a light color, use a light primer. Apply thin layers of paint every 5 minutes. 2-3 layers should be sufficient. When all this is done, you should use clearcote. Apply 3-4 layers of this with a solid spray on each layer. When ALL is finished, let the part "rest" for a couple of days before an eventual assembly.

Yup, these guys have pretty much summed it up ^^

If you just go for the vinyl dye option, don't forget to lacquer. If you don't you can basically scratch the stuff off :duh:
