Well, made some progress so here are the new pics.

Here is the glue up. I normally don't use glue, but I wanted the grain to run around the case, so I built it with the mitered corners.

Here is the case out of the clamps.

Applied some boiled linseed oil to it. You can see the difference immediately.

While the oil is still wet, you can see the reflections of the table.

After the oiled dried, it was time to cut the lid from the body.

Then it was on to the hinges. I went with invisible hinges... I was not fond of the hinges showing on the outside of the case.

Here we are at the drill press, plowing out the wood for the hinges for the lid. The case was another issue.

Now to mount the top to the base. Remember the cherry hold downs I made a few months ago???

Well, now I get to use them...

Here is the bottom of the case

and here are all the hold downs applied.

I had to make a little stand for the PSU. So I took some Cherry and Oak and made a corner support.

Just about as long and as wide as the 800W PSU stand in.

Then it was on to measuring the power, reset and the LED lights. The buttons were 3/4" and the LED brackets were 1/4".

I gold leafed the buttons and then sprayed them with lacquer... not sure if I like them or not.

Here is the faceplate for the Blu Ray/DVD, 35 in 1 Card Reader, Power and Reset buttons and the HDD and Power LEDs.

Here is the support in postion.

Here is the case with most of the equipment in and the cables (semi-organized)

Looks lovely with the molding in place. If the gold leaf doesn't work, you could use some brass plugs and seat the switches behind them. That would match the hardware.

Looks really good... But I don´t know about the gold leaf. Have to see it IRL I guess. A brass plug or something maybe, like cheap says. Shame there´s not too many brass switches out there
