Alright Who saw it and what did you think? I saw it last night and other than being a bit sappier it was the funniest bond movie I ever saw.
Never had a doubt in my mind about this film and Craig's performance is **** hot. going again tomorow with my bessy mate.
Great film few gripes: 1) The opening titles disappointed me, they weren't Bond titles. 2) Too much Laugh-Out-Loud funny, Bond humour should be subtle. 3) The sound dipped several times during the movie, not sure why, but it really distracted me.
With every Bond film the theme song plays a important part. But with this film there wasnt any mention of it. I found the name of the track by looking in a newspaper article bout the film. And i must say that the theme song sounds just like the film....rather raw and gritty.
4) Bond lost his rag. Bond should be cool under fire. 5) The car chase was on foot. 6) The ultimate 'Bond' gadget - A Defibrillator!
Remember that this is the first Bond movie time line wise. Its the reason why he is so cool now and doesn't trust anyone.
4) Exactly what DougEdey said; this is, time-wise, the first Bond movie when he first became a double-o so he's still learning his trade and growing in to the smooth suave character we all know so well. 6) Whilst this didn't occur to me when I was watching the film, I realised later when discussing with others that there weren't actually any gadgets in the film. Where was Q , err.. R , err.. S? <EDiT> Just realised this should have been P as it's before the others time-wise. Though I admit I haven't read the books so didn't know the gadgets came later. </EDiT> I did also notice the opening credits. They're normally festooned with naked woman. Frankly disappointed, tbh. But this continued throughout the film, there were just no scantily clad women. Very non traditional Bond. I've more to say, but have to dash. A plus tard.
Thats what I saw and I blame it being kinda sappy on that, but it was a good movie overall. I did notice that it was a little more gritty that most of the other bond movies but he did a decent job as bond. edit: I have an itch, NOOOOOO! To the right.
Just so I can tell people you scratched my arse before you died. Thats one of the LOL moments that I think there were too many of.
The are no gadgets in the film because the was none in the book the first time a gadget comes in is in from Russia with love, which is after in the time line Can't wait to see it
just been to see it, and this Craig Character is my favourite bond after Sean Connery. The humour has resorted back to the days before Roger Moore too *whoot* the film is awesome, really =P loved it
Correct. That's the first time Major Boothroyd (Q) makes an appearance (And I think it's also the only time he's referred to by name).
I went with a few mates from work to see it last night, one of them shouted oww after the first one hit, you'd swear it was him in the seat All in all I did enjoy it, but I thought it didn't fit in with the rest of the 007 films - considering it was supposed to be the first Bond film, I thought the timeline seemed to be a bit messed up to start with. (in the old films) Bond was portrayed as a cold war hero and yet here he's just been given 00 status and they reference 9/11. Why was Judi Dench M? M was a bloke in the earlier films, with Judi Dench becoming M in the later ones, (as much as I think Judi is a great M) surely a different actor/actress would have been better just to help keep the continuity... If you completely ignore all the other Bond films, then it is a really good film (despite the all too obvious product placements)
Yeah but the Bond timeline to have ever worked you would have to believe he was some sort of immortal.
it was a great movie. i'd read about it on the internet with my sony vaio, watched the promos on my sony bravia tv, and called my friends up on my sony erricsson mobile phone to arrange a time to see it. after the movie we all agreed it was a great laugh, and went down the pub for a few pints. i have some pics i took with my sony cybershot. all in all i would give this movie 9 PS3s out of 10. sony. (nigerian embassy using BD-ROM to record security feeds? that had to have been the biggest 'wtf' moment of the movie. can that model even handle timelapse? /nerd)
I thought it was a very good movie. I love the dark and gritty setting. However someone said there were too many jokes? I thought there were less jokes/play on words/sarcasm in this movie than there had been in the others. The beginning was just like Banlieu 13, some pretty good stunts. The only thing that I wanted more of, was a better car chase with that aston martin dbs.
