Yay! I'm playing quake 4 at the moment, so I'm hoping for a nice jump.. I'll post results in a minute...

EDIT: do I need to uninstall the old drivers (5.8)?

Well, before I was getting 22-45fps in the first room of Regeneration Center in Quake 4, now I'm getting 15 to 40 fps. What gives? And also, the adaptive aa option is greyed out. This is on an X800XT PE, so it is compatible, right?

Erm.. I'm getting worse results here with the new drivers than 5.8, and it appears TweakTown only got an improvement of 0.3fps in Quake 4 high quality and AA/AF. Any ideas bigz?

EDIT: Still no Adaptive AA after a uninstall, reboot twice, install, reboot twice. :( I'll use the proper ones that ATi release tomorrow.

I doubt you will be able to set Adaptive AA without using the registry hacks on anything but Radeon X1000-series cards.

Isnt it "adaptive" on the X1000 series and Temporal AA on X800 series?

Now I've installed the proper ATi 5.11 driver, I can run Quake4 with 4x old-skool AA and get the same framerate as I had with the 5.8s on 2x AA. I there's no noticeable difference running temporal AA as well, so 8x for free! Yay!
