Hello, I just pulled out the CCFL from an old laptop, and since I already have a sunbeam invertor mounted under my keyboard (soon to be backlit, i hope ) I was wondering if the laptop CCFL will work with that invertor, I assume it would, and does polarity of these things matter, just 2 wires at either end isnt it, am I right in thinking this? I still have the proper invertor from the laptop, but there are like 8 wires going into it and im not sure of the input voltage. If it work, I will post some pics of my backlit keyboard later. Thanks.
Thanks, I've no intention of touching it, I will encase it all when it works! So polarity doesn't matter?
Well my backlit keyboard works now! will post some lovely poor-quality pics tomorrow when I have neatend it up a bit.
Update: Extended some wires, made it look nice, reflective sheet etc... Then, I... SNAPPED THE CCFL! No pics sorry.
Whenever I order induvidual lights from e-buyer, they arrive smashed in some thin envelope! When I told them this they apologised and sent a replacement, It also arrived smashed in a envelope.
As long as Ebuyer have a reason to box it up the CCFL's should be fine. Just never order any on their own!
