I want to put a PSU mod on, and also I wanted to know if it's possible to mount a 4" CCFL in it. I would mount only the tube not the inverter. The inverter would be outisde of the PSU. I heard that it could kill the ccfl, or the psu, or even both! :jawdrop: . Is it possible?

I've read articles on this being done, so I think you'll be fine... if you have enough room you could mount the inverter in there too. I don't really see how it could kill the CCFL or PSU, as long as no contacts from the inverter (or CCFL) are touching anything... just put a big bit of heatshrink around the inverer.

It will work fine, so don't worry. Just make sure you don't make the wires fray when you pass it through the metal otherwise you could short them out.
