No idea where to ask and im not even to sure what im after but anyway Recently got a new cctv system to replace a rapidly dying one however due to someones almighty mess up we have a cctv system that hasnt got a remote viewing feature (ie so my boss can view the cameras from where ever). The cctv system does hook up to a pc via usb but only to view what has been recorded on the systems inbuilt hard drive. Is there anyway i can set up the CCTV system pc to be viewable across the net? I know there are programs like teamviewer that will let me view a particular pc but it is very slow and laggy and was wondering if i could just turn the pc into a server (probably not the right word) to just view the camera system as we dont need it for anything else. Thanks for any help in advance
You can view it live across your local net from yawcam (a webcam program). What CCTV do you have and is there more than one camera?
CCTV system is CnM secure 250gb recording kit yup more than 1 cam, 4 in all. Problem is thou it doesnt act like webcams it has it own hard drive and stuff so makes it very hard
