i just finished building a friends computer but the cd drive won't recognise some cd's. It is a Samsung 52 x CDROM Drive Oem. Most cd's worked fine but on 2 driver discs it said the data was corrupted or an unknown format and wouldn't access them.

I just tried them on my pc and they work fine. The pc is running win xp pro.

You could try a different IDE cable.
