Over the next few days our crack team of operatives out at CeBIT 2005 in Hanover will be bringing you the latest product news as it happens. Keep an eye on the front page, and also on this thread, for rolling updates as we get the news.

First off we have a sneak peak at a new mainstream CPU cooler from Asetek Inc, known as the Vapochill Micro.

looks like a heatercore except replacing the water tubes with mega heatpipes...

That XFX stuff looks nice but I think I'll have to settle for third best (2x 6800GT PCIE)

Looks like a good piece of kit, I’d be concerned about the extra weight that thing is going to put on. Over time it will most likely bend the cards down in the socket, suppose it depends on the case.

There are four PCI brackets and two slots supporting one unit, I doubt that would be a problem. Keep in mind when you join them together like that it effectively becomes a single card (as far as weight goes) assuming the cooling is mounted well.

Still, looks impressive. Not a huge fan of how the cooler looks (I've always favored the AC parts, don't like the look of the inno parts) but I'm sure performance is killer.

That said it'll probably end up being cheaper to buy the two cards and two normal waterblocks, and you'll have the flexibility of more than just the Asus board.

That vapochill hs looks a little tall. Looks like a pretty good perform for the price though.

We have two exclusives to bring you - one from last night, and then another one from this morning.

First off we have the first pictures of an ATI RD400-based motherboard from ASUS - this board features dual PCI-Express x16 video card slots:

Secondly, we have exclusive information on MSI's 'jumperless' SLI solution - this does not require a mode selector card, or jumpers, as the board's BIOS automatically detects whether one, or two video cards are installed.

the MSI board, PCI slot at the bottom, in orange
is it just orange for the sake of it or is that a 66MHz slot? :naughty:

More than likely the MSI communications port or something for their integrated 54G?? Or it's just there for the sake of it, just like this ECS board i have here.

It's interesting Asus have gone for the Uli southbridge over ATIs own, and Nvidia's nforce chipset for intel supports 6? SATA ports. There doesnt look like any other controller chip i can see on it.

thats probably the case, can't see why they would bother with a 66MHz slot as the amount of people that would use it is slim to none and now with a few 8xPCI-E scsi and sata cards on the market there isnt much use for it in workstations

ASUS, and many other board partners have said that the ATI southbridge still requires quite a bit of debugging before they are willing to go ahead and use it in their motherboards.

    Links?

Bigz - strange, because the EQS techs say the ATI southbridge is better because it makes driver installation less of an issue than using 2 different companies products. I dont doubt Asus though, it's not like ATI have ever made a good southbridge really.

Haven't I taught you guys anything? :eyebrow: Just make a GPU support bracket!

Anyway, on to ATi. You want to see a seriously hot ATi product at CeBit? Do you? Do you, huh? Do you? Look at the (deep breath) Sapphire Radeon Xpress 200 Enthusiast.
