wow 10 sata ports and 3 ide ports that is alot of drives!
although sata raid controllers probably would provide more function, this could be a cheaper alternative to raid setups maybe?

anyways nice report of the show guys looks like you got alot of indepth stuff thanks!

you know creative are full of ****. They said the same thing about the transision from ISA to PCI (Ie it was only rearly a graphics interface) then when sound cards started to come out for pci they bought another companies sound card up and released it as there own while they franticaly worked on a card.

with the release of the PCI-E asus card there argument has already been shown to be flawed?

more likely they couldnt find anything that required it to be run
and this looks like the perfect match for a htpc Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3, any idea on the price

Ugh, those P35 boards. Why do manufacturers keep laying out SLI/Crossfire boards this way? You're forced to block off one if not both of the PCI slots, while there's a surplus of extra room in between the two 16x PCIe slots. If they'd just lay things out better, they could maximize the number of usable slots.

You mean like having a layout as follows

    PCI-E X1/Audio
    PCI
    PCI-E x16
    PCI-E x1
    PCI
    PCI-E x16
    PCI-E x1

Do my eyes deceive me or is that a low profile duel tuner? Nice.
    Nice round up.

Please enlighten us as to why that Albatron board has two power connectors.

I can't wait until all this new tech comes to market.
At least it will drive prices down on the current stuff.

Well obviously BTX can't use the same "tried and tested" airflow-layout as it's main goal is to improve the ATX's airflow! :wallbash:

The mini-ITX AM2-board looks damn hot, shame it's so expensive.. Also ofc a PCI-e 16x would be awesome, but I kinda understand why it doesn't have one.

The main trend this year seems to be HDMI-connections on integrated graphic solutions... As well as DVIs. That's nice.

And about the 10 s-ata 3 IDE monster. At first it seems like a great idea, finally enough S-ATA ports. But it just makes me wonder the performance compared to dedicated raid controller.. And also who the hell came up with the idea of the IDEs?

That would be just about perfect. The one I really don't understand is the Albatron P35 board with no PCI-E 1x slots at all and is still laid out so that the PCI slots will probably get blocked off if you go SLI :duh:
