Your find that the IEC power cable has a female connector as its supplying the power, the PSU has the male connector, as such with the power cable removed, there is no power going into the PSU thus no chance of shock or shorts.

It has been a standard for many years now that any device supplying power would use the female connector, and devices that would recieve power would utilize the male version of said connector.

Working as I do in the electronics industry (I build Mass Spectrometers!), I can confirm that standard practice is to always have a female connector on the power output of any cable or device.

This makes it harder to accidentally let out the magic blue smoke.
You did know that electricity is made of smoke, didn't you? If the smoke gets out, the device stops working. :D

That is an input, not an output. There is only electricity on the input plug when a plug it plugged into it, which blocks access to fingers

    edit: oops please delete

I took the liberty of contacting Tagan about this slight flaw of design, I recived a replay this afternoon...

    My message to Tagan...

    The replay...

So, one can only hope they will change this in the next revision of this unit.

yes and no, depends what you want - I like all the same colour flat ones personally. Also, I was told if you ziptie power cables - they get hot (with inherent resistance) and end up melting together. Obviously you'd need to be shifting some serious amps, but still, a slight note worth considering.

Baboon - Dolby came back and said they weren't currently in a position to announce partners yet.

"The software even includes a newly patented feature where it will automatically grab your entire system specs and fire off an email to a Biostar FAE support engineer if your motherboard is having issues "
sounds suspiciously like abit's Black Box that has been around for years?

Damn you Lian-Li!!! For years the V1000 series had a perforated chassis front and solid drive bays, now they add the perforated drive bays and make it a solid front. Sigh. I guess the next Lian I buy will be a V1200 and some mesh bay covers.
