Equipment Celestron travel scope 70 with Canon 1200D

    Waste of money and the pictures will probably be crap. Get yourself a cheap 70-300 and add on a 2x tele-converter if necessary (even with the crop and 2x, it'll be better than any sub £300 telescope).

    Thankyou I do have a canon 75-300 lens and a sigma 70-300 and a x2 teleconverter. But I thought a telescope made for it would be better

    The optics on most telescopes suck until you get into the >£700 range and even then, they are designed to gather light for naked eye viewing. DSLRs can just keep their shutter open longer (to a point, even with tracking).

    If you haven't already done so, I'd recommend getting to a dark site on a night with really good seeing (low atmospheric turbulence) and find out the limitations of your existing equipment. Based on your location and a light pollution maps of the UK, west central wales seems to be your best bet.
