    Hi!

I'm going to Ireland for about a week this month. I have the HTC M8. What are my cell phone options there? I've never been to another country except the states and that's easy phone wise.

I want a working cell phone with data for the week. is that an easy thing to do? Can I just buy a sim card and a plan somewhere?

Thanks for anyone who can offer advice!

Just get a Three SIM here, you can use it in quite a few countries, where there's no extortionate prices, the usage just comes off your normal allowance.

Ireland and the USA are both countries that are in the "Feel at home" scheme.

Edit: I'm an idiot, and didn't see your current location before posting.

Leaving the advice for any UK-based travellers though!

Similar to above, pop into a Three/O2/Vodafone/EE store and pick up a PAYG (prepay) SIM and top or buy an add on.

With Three you should be able to get unlimited data for 20 euros with unlimited texts and an inbuilt call allowance.

Yes - in a word! Assuming your handset is unlocked, just swing in to a shop and get a PAYG SIM.

By 'Ireland', I am assuming you mean RoI, not Northern Ireland, and therefore you'll want to go into O2, 3, Meteor, or (can't remember the other one - is it Vodafone?). Just a SIM with some credit will see you right :thumb:

Oh! Thank you for that, I never would have thought to check and see if it's unlocked.

And thanks everyone else for the advice, sounds like it shouldn't be too hard to take care of.

    :)

Emobile which is the same as Meteor and there's Vodafone as well. I think there's Tesco mobile as well which is O2.
