I just finished wiring up my Crystal Fontz || LCD for an external application... came out pretty schw33t™ I think...

    Here's some pictures of it:

It's all wired up so I can set it up like this:

which some of you may recognize as my entry into Linear's giveaway competition... it's yet to be inverted as I still haven't found or won film for it, but its all wired up and ready to be mounted... as soon as I cut the plexi for it. My nice hand in the pictures too.

To wire it up, I used an old USB cable (to supply 5V power) and some multicolored ribbon cable I purchased through Digi-Key. I also bought a chrome shround for the DB25 connector, which when I was taking those pictures, was plugged into my computer. The potentiometer is to control contrast... the original diagrams had a switch to turn the backlight on and off, but I left the switch out to simplify my design... I also used electrical tape and heat shrink to make sure none of my connections would short, and to make it tidier... the large black thing in the second picture is the small piece of breadboard I used to make all of my power connections... makes life easier, and works better.
